About The Position

NIQ is seeking Data Scientists to join their global, diverse team focused on innovative, world-class solutions that reveal the complete consumer journey to clients. The role involves transforming Consumer Measurement products, bringing consumer shopping data to life, and supporting internal stakeholders and clients in understanding how people shop both online and in-store. The position is within the Consumer Market Leader specialized global team in the APAC region, offering a flexible working environment. The Data Scientist will educate commercial associates and clients on innovative Consumer products, act as a panel expert, present findings, evaluate methodologies for enhancement, support documentation, develop prototypes for new solutions, and assist in production deployment. They will also identify quality risks, engage with stakeholders on project scope and outcomes, perform expert-level analysis, and screen the market for new Data Science approaches while fostering knowledge exchange within the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Socio-economics, Data Science or other related field.
  • At least 2 or more years of experience.
  • Knowledge of/ Interest in consumers and their behavior and (un-)managed consumer related crowdsourced panels.
  • Experience working with Commercial functions and/or clients.
  • Strong aptitude for data analysis.
  • Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret large data sources.
  • Eager to continuously learn and adopt and develop evolving technologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication/writing and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent statistical and logic skills.
  • Experience in data cleaning, outlier validation, sampling, bias reduction, indirect estimation, data aggregation techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Python or another high-level programming language and willingness to learn Python.
  • Experienced with SQL, working with queries and large-scale databases.
  • Experience/Interest in production level solutions prototyping.

Responsibilities

  • Educate commercial associates and clients on how to use innovative Consumer products.
  • Be a panel expert, understanding end-to-end construction of industry-leading panels.
  • Present and communicate findings and recommendations based on research and analysis.
  • Evaluate current methodologies and identify opportunities for enhancement (input data cleaning, data preparation methodologies, data quality tracking, consumer projection).
  • Support documentation of findings, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Develop prototypes of new solutions/methodologies for new market challenges.
  • Support production deployment of proposed enhancements/new solutions.
  • Identify quality risks and follow up on solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders on scope, execution, data exchange, and outcomes for assigned projects.
  • Perform expert-level analysis of results and presentations with insights.
  • Screen the market for potential new Data Science approaches.
  • Foster knowledge exchange within the company.
