About The Position

Guidehouse is seeking a Data Scientist to join our AI & Data Defense and Security Segment, where the individual will collect and analyze data to identify trends, develop visualizations in support of organizational and mission goals, and support decision-making for large-scale programs within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Requirements

  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DHS "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
  • Bachelors Degree
  • At least THREE (3) years of experience in consulting, data analytics, or project management

  • Proficiency in querying data using SQL and experience optimizing SQL query performance for large datasets

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data visualization and dashboard solutions to provide required analytics insights (Power BI)
  • Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data using a variety of methods and tools, such as R
  • Identifying and creating additional data visualization capabilities, as needed
  • Ensuring data governance and quality assurance standards are met
  • Conducting data validation and remediation using tools such as R and Excel
  • Analyzing current process and identifying potential improvements
  • Working with team members to summarize and report on business process improvements to include gaps in current processes and initiatives to improve processes for an organization
  • Organizing and leading client meetings, including scheduling meetings; drafting and delivering agendas and meeting minutes; providing and archiving required documentation; and documenting, tracking, and following-up on action items
  • Summarizing and presenting information and reports to the team and make recommendations (both oral and written)
