About The Position

iQuasar is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist/Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic AI team. In this role, you will leverage machine learning algorithms and software engineering skills to contribute to diverse AI-based projects related to resource planning for ship maintenance, marine transportation, and climate/environmental informatics. Work will involve developing machine learning models that deliver predictive insights and analytics for robust, web-based full-stack AI applications spanning both government (DoD, DoT, NOAA, etc.) and commercial domains.

Requirements

2+ years' programming experience in Python
Completed coursework in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithm Design, and Data Science
Knowledge of Python libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, and/or PyTorch
Good understanding of databases and API-based data ETL operations
Strong knowledge of Linux or Unix-like OS.
Excellent coding skills in Python, ability to handle and analyze large data sets/streams, and familiarity with web frameworks such as Fast API, Django and Flask.
Experience handling git repositories.
US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a final DoD adjudicated Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

Strong knowledge of DevOps tools and practices.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Proficiency in MS Office Applications
Strong written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail, procedural compliance, and the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Experience working in Agile environments
DoD adjudicated secret clearance

Responsibilities

Write code to extract and pre-process training data sets, handling disparate data formats and APIs.
Research, select, and develop appropriate ML/DL algorithms and models to tackle AI problems across disparate data domains (Navy, Transportation, Environmental Sciences, Healthcare, Public Safety, etc.).
Work with the TRABUS Data Science team to deliver scalable AI solutions involving LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, computer vision, and NLP tools.
Work alongside other AI/ML and DevOps engineers to establish automated AI workflows that continuously provide inferences/predictions.
Develop validation and test routines to measure and evaluate the quality of predictions.
