About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in Durham, NC, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule! Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, additional days and hours as needed. To support the development of innovative AI/ML solutions that drive business value across multiple departments at LabCorp. The Data Scientist contributes to exploratory data analysis, helps develop and implement machine learning models, and works with team members to deliver data-driven solutions. This role requires technical proficiency and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field with 2+ years of relevant data science experience, or Master's degree with 0-1 years of experience
• 2+ years of experience with Python programming
• Experience contributing to data science or analytics projects
• Working knowledge of machine learning techniques including classification, regression, and basic deep learning approaches
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis and data preprocessing methods
• Ability to work with structured data and common data formats
• Problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn
• Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
• Attention to detail and commitment to data quality
• Ability to follow best practices in model development and implementation
• Python, SQL, basic data visualization skills

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with AWS services
• Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, basic knowledge of TensorFlow/PyTorch, Matplotlib/Seaborn/Plotly

Responsibilities

• Contribute to data science projects throughout the development lifecycle
• Implement and validate machine learning models that solve business problems
