About The Position

SAP Labs, LLC is hiring multiple Data Scientists at its Palo Alto, California location. The role is responsible for developing new machine learning models and optimizing existing models. It supports machine learning research, project, and development teams across AI algorithms, applies recent research breakthroughs to real-world problems, and helps create business value. The role emphasizes explainable and ethically sound AI, performance and scalability, and communicating the relevance and results of implemented systems clearly. It also involves understanding business problems from end to end, coordinating machine learning development, and identifying new use cases and applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation; alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of these fields plus three years of relevant experience.
• At least two years of experience with heterogeneous knowledge graphs for machine learning use cases.
• At least two years of experience developing graph-based machine learning models such as GraphSAGE, GAT, or Graph Transformers.
• At least two years of experience with cloud-based machine learning development platforms such as Azure ML and Databricks.
• At least two years of experience fine-tuning large language models as part of Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines.
• At least two years of experience in AI/ML research, including publishing papers.
• At least one year of experience with legacy supervised learning models, including development and deployment using methods such as XGBoost.
• At least one year of exposure to multi-agent orchestration frameworks and workflows.

Responsibilities
