About The Position

The World Bank Group is seeking an Extended Term Consultant (Talent Analytics and Insights) to support the Talent Planning and Insights Center of Expertise (CoE). This role is crucial for modernizing talent management and development to meet evolving organizational needs and enable a future-ready workforce. The position involves designing and implementing integrated, data-driven talent management solutions and associated digital tools. The Data Scientist will focus on delivering scalable, high-quality talent analytics, data visualization, reporting, and insight generation across the talent management portfolio. This role requires a blend of hands-on data science, automation, and reporting expertise, coupled with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights and executive-level materials. The ETC will collaborate with the Senior Specialist to operationalize integrated talent insights, enhance reporting efficiency through automation, and support the development of AI-enabled solutions. The position offers exposure to talent architecture, skills-based approaches, and digital enablement within a global context.

Requirements

  • Preferably a Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant, hands-on experience in data analytics, HR analytics, workforce insights, or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Proven experience developing interactive dashboards and analytical products using Power BI for business and decision-making audiences.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and data manipulation.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing automated reporting solutions, data pipelines, or workflow automation, with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
  • Experience applying data science and analytical methods to generate insights from complex datasets and inform decision-making.
  • Experience applying generative AI to enhance data analysis, reporting, or workflow automation, with demonstrated impact on efficiency and practical outcomes.
  • Ability to design or contribute to analytical frameworks, models, or tools that support structured, data-driven decisions.
  • Strong ability to translate complex data into clear, structured insights and executive-ready materials, including presentations and written outputs for senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect analysis to business context, key implications, and recommended actions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across HR, technical, and business teams.
  • Learning agility and adaptability to operate across different topics and evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured and exploratory analysis across talent data sources (e.g., HR systems, surveys, and workforce platforms) to generate insights across the employee lifecycle.
  • Apply strong data storytelling to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives, highlighting key trends, implications, and recommended actions.
  • Develop high-quality presentations, briefs, and summaries tailored to senior audiences.
  • Deliver standard and ad hoc analytical outputs, ensuring accuracy, coherence, and alignment across talent initiatives, in compliance with data confidentiality and governance standards.
  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reporting products (e.g., Power BI) to support monitoring and decision-making.
  • Perform data extraction, processing, and analysis using appropriate techniques, and contribute to data quality assurance and troubleshooting to strengthen reliability and integrity of outputs.
  • Design and implement automated reporting and data workflows to improve efficiency, scalability, and timeliness of insights.
  • Develop or support data pipelines and repeatable analytical products, reducing manual effort and enabling consistent reporting.
  • Translate recurring reporting needs into standardized, reusable solutions.
  • Explore and apply AI-enabled tools (e.g., agents, copilots, workflow automation) to streamline analysis and reporting.
  • Contribute to integrated talent insights and reporting products, ensuring consistency across data sources, systems, and initiatives.
  • Act as a bridge between HR, data, and technology teams, translating business needs into analytical outputs and actionable solutions.
  • Support delivery of analytical components of cross-cutting HR and talent initiatives.
  • Develop practical, user-oriented tools and materials to support adoption and effective use of insights.
