About The Position

The Data Scientist will improve the geochemical data ecosystem at Zanskar, including automating steps of the data ingestion workflow, building data pipelines where needed, designing visual data displays, and developing machine learning models leveraging geochemical data to uncover hidden geothermal systems and drive real-world exploration decisions. A successful candidate will be a hands-on contributor, an experienced innovator, and an enthusiastic learner willing to broaden their skillset. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role requires close collaboration with research, engineering, geoscience, land, and field teams. Startup experience is a plus.

Requirements

5+ years professional experience in data science, geochemistry, or chemistry, including graduate level work experience.
Proven experience applying data science in the domains of geochemistry, chemistry, physics, remote sensing, or spectroscopy
Proven ability to find innovative solutions to mathematically and scientifically complex problems under ambiguity
Expertise in modern machine learning and statistics, including supervised and unsupervised methods
Fluency in Python.
Ability to work closely and collaboratively with engineers, domain experts, and non-technical stakeholders
