About The Position

We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join Etsy’s Payments Analytics team and help make payments more seamless and reliable. You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, and fellow analysts to evaluate opportunities and inform product decisions through analysis, experimentation, and foundational data work. This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager, Analytics. The Payments team improves buyer and seller financial experiences and the infrastructure that supports transactions across Etsy. Payments Analytics helps the team understand customer behavior, builds trusted data sources, and measures the impact of product decisions.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or another quantitative role, using data to answer business questions.
Proficient in SQL, with some experience in Python or R.
Experience with experimentation, dashboarding, and foundational statistical methods.
Ability to manage well-scoped analytical projects and collaborate with stakeholders from planning through delivery.
Strong commitment to data quality, reproducibility, and clear documentation
Ability to communicate insights clearly and translate findings into actionable recommendations
Curiosity about customer behavior and a growth mindset.

Nice To Haves

Experience in payments, marketplaces, or e-commerce is a plus.

Responsibilities
