About The Position

The Data Scientist-Mid will support Defense & Intelligence Programs at U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) located at MacDill AFB, FL in the Intelligence Data Science Team. This role involves contributing to the completion of specific programs and projects, developing data-driven solutions to complex business challenges, and utilizing advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in data. The position also includes evaluating the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and gathering techniques, using predictive modeling to optimize customer experience and business outcomes, and working with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data. Additionally, the role may involve developing machine learning-based tools to monitor model performance and data accuracy, performing additional duties as assigned, and potentially coaching less experienced professionals.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python and Bash, including API development and data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with SQL and large-scale systems such as PostgreSQL, Hive, or Trino.
  • Basic understanding of ML concepts and familiarity with Flask or FastAPI.
  • Current DoW TS/SCI Clearance required.
  • 5-8 years of related experience, including academic or internship-based data science work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • On-Site 5 days
  • Only US Citizens are eligible for this role
