About The Position

Known's Media Science team utilizes advanced analytics, machine learning, statistics, and algorithms to plan and optimize advertising expenditures. We collaborate with clients to translate their business objectives into measurable metrics and manage media buys across all channels to achieve those outcomes. This role involves working with data analysts, data scientists, media strategists, media buyers, and software engineers. Specifically, this position is within the "Buyer Science" team, focusing on media measurement, data analysis, experimental design, and campaign optimization. The individual will work closely with media strategists, channel experts, and clients to enhance media performance and deliver business value. Responsibilities include developing campaign measurement strategies, designing experimentation plans, and collaborating with media planners to ensure scientifically sound media allocations. At the Consultant level, this role involves conducting analyses for campaign optimization, deriving insights beyond media metrics by incorporating first-party data, and contributing to business strategy. There will be opportunities to collaborate with the development team to productionalize advanced approaches to media challenges. The role may involve leading projects independently over time. Project management responsibilities include defining business objectives, designing analytical approaches, analyzing data, and presenting findings. Ensuring an exceptional client experience and reinforcing client relationships as trusted partners is also key.

Requirements

  • A degree from a well-regarded college or university (STEM degrees preferred).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, optimization, and/or statistics.
  • Experience utilizing Python and SQL.
  • 1+ years of experience building data science software.
  • Experience in strategy consulting, marketing, and/or marketing research, with a passion and background in technology and/or media.
  • Examples of account/client management.
  • Understanding of the advertising and media landscape, including measurement vendors and ad platforms.
  • Superb communication and presentation skills, with fluency in discussing strategic business problems.
  • Ability to combine analytical reasoning with a practical understanding of client marketing objectives.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience making appropriate research or analysis recommendations for business problems.
  • Proficiency in Google products (Sheets, Documents, Slides) and/or Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to think strategically, analytically, and proactively about diverse business problems.
  • Passion for managing the quality and accuracy of data sources and downstream analytics.
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results on deadline.

Responsibilities

  • Project management and ownership of workstreams.

  • Creating interactive data tools for clients, such as dashboards for marketing campaign performance or media experiments.
