About The Position
As a Data Scientist III, you will apply advanced analytical modeling and data management techniques to solve complex business challenges. This role involves developing, validating, and deploying scalable models while ensuring data quality and governance standards are met. You will collaborate across functions to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions, leveraging statistical methods and programming expertise. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting Walmart’s commitment to operational excellence and informed decision-making through innovative data strategies. The Ecommerce Fulfillment Insights team applies data science, optimization, and artificial intelligence to enhance order fulfillment and delivery efficiency. By transforming complex data into actionable insights, the team supports strategic decisions that improve operations and reduce costs. Members utilize programming, statistical modeling, and data visualization to develop scalable solutions aligned with business goals. Collaborating across functions, the team fosters continuous learning and innovation while upholding high standards of integrity and operational excellence to effectively address evolving business challenges.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in data management, data quality standards, and data governance to ensure reliable and scalable data solutions.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python or R for advanced data analysis and model development.
- Experience applying advanced statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and exploratory data analysis to solve complex business problems.
- Ability to develop, validate, and deploy analytical models with attention to performance and scalability.
- Skilled in identifying relevant data sources and translating business requirements into data-driven solutions.
- Effective communication skills to present insights and mentor junior team members.
- Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
- Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- 4 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
