About The Position

The (USA) Data Scientist III plays a critical role in leveraging advanced analytical and statistical methods to extract actionable insights from complex data sets. The merchandising analytics team transforms complex data into actionable insights that guide product selection, placement, and pricing strategies to improve business outcomes. Leveraging advanced data science, machine learning, and predictive modeling with tools such as Python and data visualization platforms, the team builds scalable analytical models. Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, members ensure alignment with organizational goals by delivering clear, impactful insights. The team supports continuous improvement and informed decision-making across merchandising functions, driving data-driven strategies that contribute to overall business success.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in data management, data quality standards, and data governance to ensure reliable and scalable data ecosystems.
  • Proficiency in statistical methods, exploratory data analysis, and hypothesis testing to derive actionable business insights.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL for developing, testing, and deploying analytical models and data solutions.
  • Experience with machine learning techniques including predictive modeling, and large language modeling.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into data-driven solutions using big data analytics and cloud platforms such as Databricks and Big Query.
  • Skilled in data visualization tools like Power BI to effectively communicate findings and influence decision-making.
  • Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
  • Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • 4 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced statistical, analytical, and machine learning techniques to solve merchandising, pricing, and member behavior challenges.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and develop data-driven insights to identify opportunities related to assortment, pricing, promotions, and category performance.
  • Partner with merchandising, pricing, and cross-functional teams to translate business objectives into analytical frameworks and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain predictive and descriptive models to support decision-making, demand forecasting, pricing optimization, and business planning initiatives.
  • Utilize tools and programming languages such as Python, SQL, and cloud-based data platforms to extract, analyze, and optimize large datasets.
  • Create dashboards, visualizations, and executive-ready reports to communicate insights, performance trends, and business recommendations effectively.
