About The Position

Chewy, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist II in Richardson, TX. This full-time role is part of the Customer Service team and is responsible for developing machine learning infrastructure and data pipelines to improve data quality. The Data Scientist II will use machine learning frameworks in development, testing, and production environments to create and deploy new technologies. This role involves identifying opportunities for data science to enhance current products and practices for business engineering teams, creating machine learning algorithms to optimize and deliver results by reducing computational complexity, increasing model accuracy, and improving business metrics. Additionally, the Data Scientist II will perform data ETL, statistical and analytical analyses, and communicate insights and recommendations to Chewy management for informed decision-making. Telecommuting is permitted for this position.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Science, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist
  • 3 years of experience building, deploying, and scaling ETL pipelines and machine learning models in production environments using services such as Lambda, Glue, S3, Athena, and SageMaker
  • 3 years of experience querying, transforming, and managing large-scale datasets using distributed computing frameworks and cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and Spark
  • 3 years of experience developing, training, and evaluating both supervised and unsupervised models for experimentation and business optimization using libraries such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow
  • 3 years of experience with Python, including building reusable and modular components for ETL and machine learning pipelines
  • Familiarity with tools and frameworks like Docker and PySpark
  • Experience designing and developing interactive dashboards and custom visualizations for KPIs, experimentation results, and performance monitoring using tools such as Tableau, Matplotlib, and Seaborn
  • Experience designing, implementing, and analyzing models and other experiments to drive data-informed decisions and improve product and user experience.
