Data Scientist II
About The Position
Will work with division engineers to understand needs and gather information. Must have the ability to understand and discover new insights in large structured and unstructured data sets. Must have knowledge of machine learning, analytical, visualization and programming. Analytical skills in mathematics, statistics and machine learning. Ability to understand and discover new insights in large structured and unstructured data sets. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong presentation, coordination and organizational skills. Solutions oriented, goal driven analytical person who likes to work on teams and get things done. Should be self-starter.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent will be considered
- Knowledge of machine learning, analytical, visualization and programming.
- Analytical skills in mathematics, statistics and machine learning.
- Ability to understand and discover new insights in large structured and unstructured data sets.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Experience with SQL, R, Python, MATLAB and other programming tools.
- Experience creating data visualizations.
- Experience with Spotfire.
- Experience with Hadoop and other big data tools.
Responsibilities
- Work with division engineers to understand needs and gather information.
- Discover new insights in large structured and unstructured data sets.
- Participate in and manage multiple projects which will require interaction with vendors, division personnel and IS team.
