About The Position

As our Data Scientist I FTR, you will deliver insights and analytics while working collaboratively with a diverse team building and supporting sustainable tactical solutions to complex challenges facing MISO’s forward energy markets. You will work in collaboration with engineers, operators, analysts, and data scientists within Market Operations to develop user-interactive applications while providing capabilities for user-developed tools along with deep data analytics. Additionally, as our Data Scientist I FTR, you will also play a critical role in being a liaison with agile teams, and MISO’s data analytics functions to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives and best practices. The tools and analysis developed by you will add value to MISO’s forward energy market operations by enhancing awareness and decision making with the mission of optimizing markets, reducing risk, and delivering value.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, IT, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science or Mathematics or related field
Specific experience with Python

Responsibilities

Develop data-driven solutions for complex business challenges, emphasizing regression, classification, and other methods for tabular/structured data.
Identify patterns and trends in datasets to extract actionable insights.
Create algorithms supporting cross-functional decision-making in collaboration with developer(s) for building data pipelines.
Develop complex models for large-scale machine learning, aligning with best practices where existing.
Employ analytical, statistical, and programming skills to process and interpret large data sets in the cloud and on-premises sources.
Collaborate with Forward Market Solutions team to develop sustainable tools aiding market operations, including visualizations for dashboards and applications.
