About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and analytically-driven Data Scientist/Analyst to support the development and application of data-driven insights for a leading independent federal agency focused on financial system stability. This role will contribute to the design, evaluation, and deployment of AI-powered analytics—including Agentic AI, Generative AI (GenAI), and traditional machine learning to enhance decision-making, policy analysis, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will combine strong statistical and data engineering skills with a deep understanding of how to translate complex data into actionable intelligence.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, or machine learning.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience working with GenAI platforms and evaluating LLM outputs.
  • Familiarity with Agentic AI systems and autonomous analytics workflows.
  • Experience with NLP, time series analysis, and model explainability techniques.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance in federal environments.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public sector or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, economic indicators, or policy analysis.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and AI/MLOps tools.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze structured and unstructured data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights relevant to financial policy and operations.
  • Develop predictive models, classification systems, and clustering algorithms using traditional ML techniques.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers to evaluate and refine GenAI and Agentic AI outputs for accuracy, relevance, and bias.
  • Leverage GenAI tools for document summarization, sentiment analysis, and natural language querying.
  • Support the design and evaluation of Agentic AI systems that autonomously generate insights or perform analytical tasks.
  • Apply retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and other hybrid approaches to enhance data accessibility and usability.
  • Clean, transform, and prepare data for modeling and visualization using Python, SQL, and data wrangling tools.
  • Work with cloud-based data platforms and pipelines to ensure scalable and secure data access.
  • Collaborate with platform teams to ensure data governance, lineage, and compliance with federal standards.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Translate complex analytical results into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership and policy teams.
  • Support the development of performance metrics and evaluation frameworks for AI systems.
  • Partner with economists, policy analysts, and technical teams to co-develop data products and decision support tools.
  • Contribute to cross-functional sprint planning, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in workshops and forums to promote data literacy and responsible AI use.
