About The Position

The Data Science Student Assistant III provides data management, data entry, and data cleaning support to the Education, Engagement, and Early Career Development (EdEC) Center at NSF NCAR. The role performs complex data-related tasks, including assisting with database design, organization, and maintenance under minimal supervision. Its primary focus is supporting the rollout and implementation of the NSF NCAR-wide alumni database project. The assistant works under minimal supervision, solves problems independently with little direction, and organizes and prioritizes assignments. The role contributes to the initial pilot rollout by preparing legacy participant records and lab-specific spreadsheets for a new relational database schema, and by establishing a clean data foundation for a future Phase 2 migration into Salesforce CRM. Work is in a hybrid environment; the role description states a minimum of one day per week in the office, while the additional location information says hybrid staff work onsite three days per week or an equivalent based on their flexible work arrangement.
