About The Position

Vistex is seeking a Data Science Intern to join our team. This internship offers a rewarding, hands-on experience bridging academic theory with real-world business challenges in data-driven science. The data science team at Vistex focuses on augmenting go-to-market functionality with intelligence, leveraging expertise in data science, mathematics, statistics, econometrics, operations research, and computer science. As an intern, you will work under the guidance of a mentor to innovate advanced analytics tool sets. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and framing problems, developing proof-of-concept models and prototypes, and presenting your findings to key stakeholders. Potential project areas include Causal Effect Analysis for promotion effectiveness, developing hybrid explainable AI models for target pricing, uncovering sales/purchase patterns for segmentation and forecasting, and prototyping demand modeling workflows. The internship will culminate in a summary paper and a final presentation to company managers.

Requirements

  • Expertise in at least one area of data science, mathematics, statistics, econometrics, operations research, or computer science.
  • Interest in becoming a well-rounded data scientist.
  • Ability to present results and findings clearly, concisely, and convincingly.

Responsibilities

  • Research internal and external resources, including literature research and public data sets, regarding your research topic.
  • Execute analytical work such as data analysis, data mining, segmentation, modeling the relation between price levers and demand response, time series forecasting, and mathematical programming.
  • Document, summarize, and present your results clearly, concisely, and convincingly.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $18 to $25 hourly, varying based on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and work experience.
