About The Position

FORVIA is looking for a year-round Data Science Intern for its headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This role involves assisting in the design, building, and testing of machine learning models for various use cases, supporting the development of end-to-end ML workflows, and collaborating with different teams to solve practical problems using AI. The intern will also help optimize model performance, experiment with algorithms, use Python and ML frameworks, assist in integrating models into applications, contribute to exploratory AI initiatives, document code and findings, and stay current with data science trends.

Requirements

Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program
Majors in computer science, data analysis, or related field
Graduation of 2027 or later
Minimum 2.8 GPA

Nice To Haves

Data analysis and excel skills are a plus

Responsibilities

Assist in designing, building, and testing machine learning models for use cases such as computer vision, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection.
Support the development of end-to-end ML workflows, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and business teams to understand data and contribute to solving practical problems using AI.
Help optimize model performance and experiment with different algorithms under guidance from senior team members.
Use Python and common machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn) to develop and test models.
Assist in integrating models into applications and workflows alongside data and software engineers.
Contribute to exploratory AI initiatives, including generative AI use cases.
Document code, experiments, and findings to support reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
Stay current with emerging trends in data science and machine learning.
