About The Position

We are seeking a Data Science Consultant to support our Army Client. This is a hybrid position and the candidate will be required to work from the client location in Crystal City, Arlington VA at least 2 days a week. The role involves designing new solutions using Databricks (SQL, Python, Pyspark) and Palantir Foundry to deliver capabilities meeting business functional requirements, and designing modifications to existing data model solutions as needed. The consultant will also define test cases and verify test results to ensure solutions are functioning as designed, and build data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems. Coordination with stakeholders and users to determine reporting requirements and convert business requirements into technical specifications is also a key part of this role.

Requirements

2+ years hands on development experience
Proficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark.
Experience working in data engineering, data science and data analytics.
Familiarity with Databricks
Familiarity with database design and architecture; relational and non-relational databases
Ability to work cross-functionally, and participate in discussions
Knowledge of cloud architecture: commercial cloud vendors (AWS/Azure)
Competence with software engineering tools and processes (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging, etc.)
Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks without any supervision.
Proven experience in knowledge sharing (i.e., code reviews, solid documentation)
Driven, self-directed personality
Strong sense of mission and commitment to making a difference
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Active Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

Experience with ETL pipelines, data pipelines, and/or workflow automation
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster positive outcomes from diverse interests of people and teams
Experience working with the DoD
Experience working with GFEBS or other SAP ERP system
