Metaphore: Data Science Co-Op
About The Position
Metaphore Biotechnologies is seeking an enthusiastic co-op to join our Comp Bio and AI/ML groups. In this role, you will address key questions for our platform, including both drug discovery and technology development efforts, by analyzing, benchmarking, and interpreting the results of next-generation sequencing (NGS) drug discovery assays and evaluating AI/ML tools to respond to drug discovery questions. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in data analysis and some knowledge of either the Python or R programming languages and AI/ML tools. In this position, they will have the opportunity to work across Metaphore's computational platform and learn and contribute to multiple bioinformatic analysis approaches.
Requirements
- Experience with Python or R
- Familiarity with big data
- Some experience with AI/ML tools
- Strong communication skills
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and bespoke bioinformatic analyses for drug discovery efforts and technology development
- Develop reproducible analysis code
- Run bioinformatic pipelines and apply AI/ML tools
- Communicate results and conclusions to colleagues
