About The Position

Precision Analytical (PA) is seeking a Data Science and Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on driving data initiatives and innovation. The manager will develop strategies for advanced data science techniques, manage data infrastructure, and ensure best practices in data management. This role involves collaborating with various teams and stakeholders to integrate data solutions into business operations and promote data-driven decision-making, ultimately enhancing business performance and creating new data products. This is a remote position, with the main office located in McMinnville, Oregon. Candidates from specific states (Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin) are eligible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within data science and engineering.
  • Strong technical skills in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and data tools (e.g., Snowflake).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Data Science and Engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Develop and implement data science vision and strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee the development and execution of projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Mentor and guide team members, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Utilize advanced data science techniques, including machine learning, predictive modeling, and data mining, to extract actionable insights.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Implement best practices for data management, data governance, and data security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into business processes.
  • Direct the (external) source system engineers and provide software architecture oversight to ensure seamless integration.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Communicate complex data insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Create and improve the delivery of embedded analytics solutions to end users, helping enhance business processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data science and engineering.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions.
  • Lead the development of new data products and services to enhance business performance.
