Data Science Analyst
About The Position
Indiana University Health is seeking a data-driven, analytically curious professional to join our System Strategy team in the role of Data Science Analyst. This role will transform complex datasets into meaningful insights that inform clinical and operational decision-making. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting, develop dashboards, and support data discovery across the organization. This position plays a key role in ensuring that IU Health leverages data effectively to improve performance, quality, and outcomes. The Data Science Analyst acts as a key operational partner, transforming complex data into actionable insights that support clinical and business decision-making. This role ensures the accurate, consistent, and effective use of financial and operational data while helping leaders improve outcomes, performance, and overall system effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 3–5 years of experience required
- Experience with MS SQL Server and MS SSRS
- Experience using Tableau, QlikView, Business Objects, Power BI, or other Business Intelligence tools required
- Ability to navigate complex, technical projects
Nice To Haves
- Preferred experience in the healthcare industry
- Significant experience with Microsoft Excel strongly preferred
- Experience with Power BI preferred
- Familiarity with data visualization best practices preferred
Responsibilities
- Identify, cleanse, and integrate data from multiple systems and sources
- Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and interactive data visualizations
- Support and enhance Business Intelligence (BI) frameworks and information delivery solutions
- Analyze data to support decision-making, performance tracking, and operational improvement
