About the team and the role: eBay, Inc. seeks Data Science - Analyst 2 in San Jose, CA

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Business Analytics or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Proficiancy with Python and SQL, including data manipulation, visualization, and working in common analysis environments (2 years)
  • Foundational understanding of statistics, experimentation, and interpreting data to answer business questions (2 years)
  • Experience with core ML concepts and simple models, along with basic model evaluation (2 years)
  • Experience with cleaning, transforming, and preparing datasets for analysis or modeling(2 years)
  • Experience with providing insights, visualizing results, and connecting analysis to business needs (2 years)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Utilize statistical techniques to analyze AB test data using SQL, and identify patterns, trends, and insights that can help in making informed decisions.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to discover future opportunities and generate actionable insights for improvement.
  • Regularly monitoring health metrics and identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in the data, and determining the root cause of any abnormal fluctuations.
  • Develop and maintain AutoETL pipeline and automated monitoring dashboards using Tableau.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Create data visualizations and reports to communicate findings and trends to stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to stakeholders on data-driven insights.
  • Support the development and implementation of data-driven strategies.
