About The Position

This role is located in our Malvern, PA office and offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days per week in the office. We are seeking candidates who are able to work from the Malvern location, as the position is not eligible for remote work. Vanguard offers multiple approaches to proxy voting, all aimed at supporting long-term investment returns. The Investment Stewardship Data, Operations, and Control team enables these approaches through partnerships with the Vanguard Capital Management Investment Stewardship (VCMIS) team, Vanguard Portfolio Management Investment Stewardship (VPMIS) team, Investor Choice, and more than two dozen external investment managers, each with their own proxy voting methodologies. We are seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Data Analyst to support the reporting, analytics, and data capabilities that power Vanguard's investment stewardship activities. The ideal candidate is a data-driven professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys working with complex datasets, developing scalable reporting solutions, leveraging cloud technologies, and partnering with stakeholders to transform data into meaningful business insights and informed business decisions. In this role, you will work closely with business leaders, product partners, legal and compliance teams, and fellow analytics professionals to design and deliver impactful reporting and analytics solutions that support critical business decisions.

Requirements

• Experience working with AWS services and large-scale datasets.
• Proficiency with Python, Amazon Athena, SQL, or similar data querying and programming tools.
• Experience building dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, or comparable visualization platforms.
• Knowledge of relational databases, data architecture, and data management principles.
• Experience using GitHub and version control best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into actionable insights.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data quality, governance, and documentation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AWS SageMaker, Microsoft Fabric, or other modern cloud analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of regulatory, compliance, governance, or investment-related data.
• Experience supporting enterprise reporting, business intelligence, or analytics programs within a regulated industry.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Investment Stewardship, Legal, Compliance, and Technology stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights and reporting solutions that support key business priorities.
• Analyze, integrate, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, quality, and actionable outcomes.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and automated reporting solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau, and related tools.
• Identify trends and opportunities through data analysis, enabling informed decision-making and process improvements.
• Support data modernization initiatives by applying ETL, data modeling, and analytics best practices.
• Contribute to strategic projects, continuous improvement efforts, and documentation that strengthen the team's reporting and analytics capabilities.
