About The Position

Old Dominion Group is a multi-state construction organization operating across 14 business units with over 1,500 employees and an aggressive growth trajectory. As we scale — through organic growth and active acquisition activity — our ability to make confident, data-informed decisions depends on a reporting and analytics foundation that keeps pace with the business. The Data and Reporting Analyst will serve as the enterprise reporting hub and data governance steward for ODG. You will own the reporting work stream for our Enterprise Application Portfolio implementation, lead a comprehensive audit of existing reports to ensure continuity post-implementation, and establish the foundational processes and infrastructure for enterprise-wide data management and self-serve analytics. This role bridges business intelligence, data governance, and operational analytics — working across internal teams, vendors, and consulting partners to ensure ODG has the visibility and access to data it needs to operate and grow effectively.

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in designing, building, and deploying Power BI reports and dashboards in a business environment.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases.
• Experience establishing or working within data governance frameworks, managing data quality, and implementing data management processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset — able to understand complex business requirements, identify appropriate data sources, and translate them into actionable analytical solutions.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to work across departments and with external vendors and consultants, translating between technical and business language.

Nice To Haves

• Construction industry or similar field operations experience that provides insight into operational complexity and reporting needs in specialized environments.
• Experience with data modeling and understanding of relational database design.
• Familiarity with data lakehouse architectures or emerging analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the reporting work stream for our Enterprise Application Portfolio implementation. Audit all existing reports, map them to the new system landscape, and ensure critical reporting capabilities are preserved and enhanced through the transition. Serve as the primary point of accountability for reporting continuity throughout implementation.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all data sources, reports, and reporting systems across ODG’s operating companies and functional departments. Ensure data lineage and data flows are documented, and establish governance processes that ensure data quality, consistency, and appropriate access controls enterprise-wide.
• Maintain and prioritize a backlog of reporting and analytics requests from across the organization. Assess feasibility, complexity, and business impact to guide resource allocation and prioritization.
• Administer the reporting portal on an ongoing basis, administering access, managing the feature backlog and coordinating with the vendor.
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that serve business intelligence needs across ODG. Translate business requirements into effective visualizations and analytics that drive operational and strategic decision-making.
• Work alongside consulting partners building out ODG’s data lakehouse infrastructure. Develop a working understanding of the emerging data model and schema, collaborate on data integration questions, and ensure the architecture serves current and future reporting requirements.
• Help establish the foundation for self-serve analytics and reporting across the organization. Enable teams to access and explore data cubes and self-serve reporting platforms, and serve as a primary resource for analytics literacy, report building assistance, and adoption of data-driven decision-making habits.
