About The Position

The Opportunity: Create a long-term data quality strategy that aligns with the organization's mission, with a special focus on enterprise governance with data stored in a cloud environment. Define the target future-state for a repeatable data quality strategy, outlining how quality will be monitored, tracked, and implemented. Develop a strategic roadmap with clear milestones to guide the organization's transition to its desired future state for data management. Lead exercises to create a complete inventory of the organization's data assets to identify what data exists and where it is located. Develops data quality procedures by implementing profiling scripts, anomaly detection models, field-level validation rules, lineage tracking checks, and completeness scoring mechanisms. Supports the building of governance policies, stewardship standards, and access control frameworks while coordinating with platform engineers, cybersecurity officers, and mission analysts to maintain accurate metadata, asset documentation, and catalog traceability. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data governance
  • 3+ years of experience with data quality and policy
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud technology such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience working with government organizations
  • Experience in establishing and supporting data governance programs, including the supporting the development of policies, standards, and processes
  • Knowledge of the unique challenges and regulatory requirements of the public sector
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • AWS Practitioner Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Alation Data Catalog
  • Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) methodology or MDM technologies
  • Experience implementing "zero-trust" security architectures
  • Knowledge of modern cybersecurity principles
  • Ability to articulate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Possession of excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
