About The Position

HealtheConnections, a leader in health information exchange (HIE) services for NYS-based organizations, is seeking individuals with a background in healthcare, health information technology (HIT), or clinical data quality. The role involves ensuring the availability of complete, accurate, and reliable data through their health information exchange, which is sourced from thousands of healthcare facilities across NYS. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of clinical data, potentially gained from working in a hospital, clinical practice, or EMR company, such as a clinical data analyst, health information management specialist, or medical billing and claims specialist. The Data Quality Analyst will review and clean up information flows by collaborating with various team members and partners, including large healthcare systems. This involves working with customers, EMR and HIT vendors, and internal teams to review new and audit existing data feeds, troubleshoot issues, and communicate corrections. The company is looking for an individual who can manage their own work, pays close attention to standards and structure, and understands the value of collaboration within a diverse team. Requirements

  • Experience working within the healthcare or HIT industry required.
  • 2-year degree or higher in HIT, Healthcare, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent experience and certifications will also be considered.
  • Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities and complex situations.
  • Excellent analytical skills; critical thinking.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years’ professional experience working with clinical data preferred.
  • Experience working with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD/CCD-A, and terminology standards preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQL, database concepts, and data analysis tools like Tableau.
  • Approaching problems with an analytical mindset, close attention to detail, and a desire to find a solution.
  • Being flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities or tasks.
  • Managing your own time.
  • Interacting with partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and troubleshoot issues found in healthcare data, including HL7 messages and FHIR Resources.
  • Identify data quality improvement opportunities based on analysis, trends, and programmatic requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to implement solutions that bolster data quality, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Support data hygiene practices that ensure information remains accurate, consistent, and secure across organizational systems and databases.
