About The Position

Are you passionate about working with data to uncover insights and solve business challenges? Do you enjoy analyzing information, identifying patterns, and helping teams make data-driven decisions? Come join our Personal Wealth Data Strategy & Management team! Vanguard is building trusted data products that power analytics, AI capabilities, and business decision-making across the enterprise. We are looking for curious, analytical students who want hands-on experience working with data while partnering with product, engineering, and business teams. You will gain exposure to how data products are validated, governed, and delivered within a large-scale organization. This exciting six-month co-op opportunity begins in January for students from participating schools. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working alongside talented engineers and contributing to impactful projects from day one.

Requirements

  • Must be able to start in January and end in June/July. No exceptions.
  • Must be able to work hybrid model (Monday and Friday option to work from home, Tuesday - Thursday onsite)
  • Pursuing a degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 0–3 years of developer experience
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest through coursework, projects, internships, or extracurricular activities involving data, analytics, or technology.
  • Strong desire to learn, collaborate, and grow in a data-focused environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SQL and data analysis concepts.
  • Exposure to Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or similar analytical tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to think critically when working with data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curiosity and desire to learn new technologies and business concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Support data discovery and profiling activities to better understand business processes and datasets.
  • Assist in documenting business rules, data definitions, requirements, and success criteria.
  • Analyze data and help identify quality issues, trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support data validation and testing efforts to ensure data products are accurate and reliable.
  • Partner with Data Product Managers, Engineers, and Analysts to support delivery initiatives.
  • Contribute to reporting, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder presentations.
