About The Position

As a Data Processing Systems Engineer Intern, your primary focus will be supporting a Systems Engineering team with requirements development, design, implementation, and test activities. You’ll collaborate with mentors and experienced engineers to contribute to mission-critical systems. This internship offers hands-on experience across the systems engineering lifecycle and exposure to cutting-edge technologies. During this internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience across the full Systems Engineering lifecycle. You’ll work closely with mentors who will guide your professional growth, collaborate with experienced engineers on mission-critical projects, and learn best practices for building and integrating complex systems. Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
Three years of continuous residency in the US for issuance of a Government Security credential.
The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hiring to obtain a badge for government facility access and user account.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles
Programming experience (Python or similar)
Interest in Earth science or space systems
Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence

Responsibilities

Assist with requirements development, design, implementation, and test activities for mission-critical systems
Assist in creating documentation, workflows, and integration plans
Participate in brainstorming sessions to turn new ideas into reality
Support system design, integration, and testing activities as needed
