About The Position

This role owns the data and systems layer connecting Evans’ Account Management and Carrier Procurement teams. It replaces scattered spreadsheets, one-off exports, and manual data pulls with accurate, repeatable reporting, dashboards, and workflows that users can access themselves. The analyst designs the systems behind reports by sourcing data, building pipelines, and automating recurring work.

The position combines data/BI and pricing responsibilities. At Evans’ current scale, one person owns both areas end to end; as the company grows, the role may lead whichever side is developed into a separate team first. The role works with Account Management, Carrier Procurement, and Yield leadership to understand data needs and build solutions. Work is performed in an office environment, where noise is usually moderate.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a data, reporting, or analytics role.
• Ability to build a dashboard, scorecard, or reporting system from scratch and drive user adoption.
• Ability to pull and blend data from multiple systems, including TMS platforms, Excel exports, and external data feeds, into a clean source of truth.
• Strong Excel and Power BI skills, or experience with a similar BI tool.
• Comfort working in a TMS such as MercuryGate and understanding its underlying data structures.

• A track record of finding and fixing root causes of recurring data or process problems.
• Comfort with AI and automation tools and an active interest in using them to reduce manual work.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to explain data or systems to non-technical audiences.
• Attention to detail and willingness to own the accuracy of numbers used for decisions.
• Self-direction and comfort turning a messy, partly defined problem into a system that solves it.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate scattered manual reports and exports into repeatable data pulls for Account Management and Carrier Procurement.
• Design, document, and maintain data flows between MercuryGate, the DAT integration, Excel tools, and any BI layer.
• Identify recurring manual work, including data pulls, report assembly, and status updates, and build automation or AI-assisted workflows to reduce it.
• Consolidate department dashboards into a current, trusted set.
• Track, prioritize, and close data and reporting requests from Account Management, Carrier Procurement, and Yield.
• Improve the carrier waterfall and auto-tendering workflow, and clean up contract-versus-spot labeling in the TMS.
• Combine TMS, market rate, and carrier data into a single view and help build a truckload rating engine from that foundation.
• Partner with Account Management, Carrier Procurement, and Yield leadership to understand data needs before building solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
