About The Position

Booz Allen is seeking a senior Data Platform Engineer to design, develop, operationalize, and maintain enterprise-scale data platforms and data-intensive applications. The role focuses on architecting and supporting secure, scalable, resilient cloud-based data platforms in AWS environments, along with developing data stores that provide big data for business analysis.

The engineer will build and maintain infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and Python applications, as well as deploy and operate containerized applications using orchestration platforms. As a technical lead, the engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, guide architecture decisions, and communicate solutions to stakeholders. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and a high school diploma or GED. Booz Allen offers a projected annual compensation range of $77,600 to $176,000, along with benefits and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms and data-intensive applications.
• At least 5 years of experience architecting and supporting cloud-based data platforms within AWS environments, including scalable, resilient, and secure data services.
• At least 5 years of experience developing and maintaining scalable data stores that supply big data for business analysis.
• Experience developing and maintaining infrastructure as code using automation frameworks such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience building, maintaining, and supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Experience developing applications in Python.
• Experience deploying and operating containerized applications using orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or AWS EKS.
• Experience serving as a technical lead, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, driving architecture decisions, and communicating technical solutions to stakeholders.
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Snowflake, or other modern cloud-native data platforms.
• Experience creating and improving continuous automation across infrastructure, platform, and application technology stacks.
• Experience working with modern DevOps toolchains, including Git, GitLab, Terraform, and automated deployment frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and modernization frameworks supporting enterprise platform transformation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS SysOps Administrator, Databricks, Kubernetes, or similar industry certification.
