About The Position

We are seeking a highly capable, hands-on Manager, Data Platform & Analytics to own the design, administration, governance, and ongoing development of the company’s enterprise data platform built on Microsoft Fabric. This role will serve as the direct owner of the central data hub that integrates business-critical data from systems such as NetSuite, Zendesk, Close CRM, Airtable, Asana, and future enterprise platforms. This position is responsible for turning fragmented data into trusted, governed, and scalable data products that support BI reporting, operational visibility, executive dashboards, and future AI-enabled workflows. The successful candidate will operate as both platform owner and builder — designing the environment correctly, administering it reliably, and partnering with business stakeholders to deliver reporting that is useful, accurate, and sustainable. This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong technical depth, operational discipline, and the ability to work directly with executives and department leaders to establish scalable reporting standards, reliable data governance, and enterprise-wide analytics capabilities.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI platform administration, enterprise reporting, or related enterprise data platform roles.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, and enterprise data modeling.
  • Experience integrating operational systems such as ERP, CRM, customer support, project management, and marketing platforms.
  • Experience building and supporting production-grade data pipelines across SaaS and operational business systems.
  • Strong understanding of semantic models, dimensional modeling, KPI governance, data quality, and operational analytics.
  • Experience designing secure, reliable reporting environments with role-based access and auditable controls.
  • Ability to work directly with executives, business leaders, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver practical outcomes.
  • Proven ability to balance long-term platform design with hands-on execution and day-to-day operational support.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where standards must be built while the business continues to scale.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business outcomes.
  • Collaborative, service-oriented mindset with the ability to partner effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to establish credibility with stakeholders through reliability, ownership, and execution discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Azure services such as Key Vault, API Management, Azure Functions, Monitor, and Azure DevOps is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own Athena’s Microsoft Fabric environment across architecture, administration, access, performance, lifecycle management, and platform standards.
  • Design and maintain ingestion pipelines, Lakehouse structures, Warehouse models, semantic models, and reporting assets using a governed Bronze, Silver, and Gold architecture pattern.
  • Integrate and normalize data from source systems including NetSuite, Zendesk, Close CRM, Airtable, Asana, and additional operational platforms as the roadmap expands.
  • Define and enforce standards for data quality, refresh reliability, naming conventions, lineage, documentation, release promotion, and operational monitoring.
  • Build and maintain executive dashboards, operational reporting, departmental scorecards, and self-service analytics foundations in Power BI.
  • Partner with the CTO and business leaders to translate business questions into scalable data models and durable reporting solutions rather than one-off requests.
  • Establish role-based access controls and dataset security aligned to Microsoft Entra groups and enterprise governance standards.
  • Prepare curated data products for responsible use by AI agents, copilots, and internally developed applications.
  • Document the platform thoroughly, including source contracts, runbooks, data definitions, decision logs, and support procedures.
  • Recommend and implement improvements that reduce spreadsheet dependency, brittle point-to-point integrations, and reporting inconsistency.
