About The Position

Citibank, N.A. seeks a Data Owner Sr. Lead Analyst for its Irving, Texas location. This role involves performing data activities including database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality, database management, database architecture, and database design engineering. The analyst will provide guidance on the end-to-end data flow, ensuring upstream areas that create and/or consume Authoritative Data Sources adopt new policies, standards, data models, and appropriate infrastructure. Understanding business/function processes is key to providing insights into end-to-end data flows and critical data elements across systems. The role supports Data Stewards in driving end-to-end management and consistent usage to maximize data trustworthiness and confers with the Data Quality team on issue resolution options. The analyst will lead the assessment of data requirements, data standards, and data process risk, coordinating with the business to identify critical data, define standards and quality expectations, and prioritize remediation of data issues. Alignment of key data capabilities such as metadata repositories, data dictionaries, data lineage, business process maps, and training materials with data and system process flows is also a responsibility. Support for Data Concerns remediation, including dispositioning and monitoring fixes (Data defects, Data issues), is required. The analyst will review, remediate, report, and monitor Data Quality issues through Citi’s corresponding Data/Issue management process. Collaboration with internal stakeholders to identify, review, and recommend process and technology improvements supporting Data obligations is expected. Coordination and support of reviews for issues, challenges, and risks, incorporating input from partners and diverse viewpoints, is necessary. Escalation of potential barriers to timely execution before they impact delivery, and communication of potential risks and mitigation plans, are crucial. The role involves providing status updates on issues, challenges, risks, and solutions to the Data Owner management team and technology data teams to drive decision-making and actions. Monitoring metrics and key performance indicators associated with Data Quality and Controls is also part of the role. Facilitation of remediation for Data Concerns, including dispositioning and monitoring fixes (Data defects, Data issues), is required. The position covers incumbents responsible for various data activities, including database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality, and database management or database architecture/design engineering. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or related field and 8 years of experience as an Auditor, Data Information Management Sr Lead, Data Steward, Data Product Management, Business Analytics Senior Manager or related position identifying data quality gaps in data.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in the above fields and 10 years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the above positions.
  • Developing ad-hoc reports for compliance of internal data policy.
  • Regulatory requirements including the California consumer privacy Act (CCPA), GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Setting data management best practices and operational guidelines.
  • Designing solutions according to enterprise data strategy.
  • Developing data analytics using data within a global financial services institution (at least 3 years).
  • Setting data risk policies for internal teams (at least 3 years).
  • Regulatory requirements including Debts Previously Contracted, Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) and Unfair Methods of Competition (UDAP) (at least 3 years).

Responsibilities

  • Perform data activities including database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality, database management, database architecture, and database design engineering.
  • Provide guidance to the end-to-end data flow, including all upstream areas that create and/or consume Authoritative Data Sources to ensure they adopt new policy/standards, data models, and appropriate infrastructure.
  • Understand the business/function processes to provide insights into business end-to end data flows and the critical data elements that flow across systems.
  • Support Data Stewards to drive end-to-end management and consistent usage to maximize the trustworthiness in data.
  • Confer with Data Quality team on options to resolve issues.
  • Lead assessment of data requirements, data standards and data process risk, including coordinating with the business in identifying critical data, defining standards and quality expectations, and prioritize remediation of data issues.
  • Align key data capabilities including metadata repositories, data dictionaries, data lineage, business process maps, and training materials with the data and system process flows.
  • Support Data Concerns remediation, including dispositioning and monitoring fixes (Data defects, Data issues).
  • Review, remediate, report, and monitor Data Quality issues through Citi’s corresponding Data/Issue management process.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, review, and recommend and/or processes and technologies improvements that support successful deployment of Data obligations.
  • Coordinate and support reviews of issues / challenges / risks by factoring input from partners and diverse points of view.
  • Escalate potential barriers to timely execution before they impact the delivery, communicate potential risks and plans to mitigate issues and concerns.
  • Provide status updates on issues, challenges, risks and solutions to Data Owner management team and technology data teams in a succinct manner to drive decision-making and actions.
  • Monitor metrics and key performance indicators associated with Data Quality and Controls.
  • Facilitate execution on remediation of Data Concerns, including dispositioning and monitoring fixes (Data defects, Data issues).
  • Cover incumbents responsible for various data activities, which include database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality, and database management or database architecture / design engineering.
