About The Position

GrizzlyTrek is seeking a Data Migration Lead to join their client's team. This full-time contract role is responsible for leading and coordinating all data migration activities for a transition from an existing Teamcenter PLM environment to a new version. The role involves working closely with the business unit, the Global Data Migration Team, and an external Data Migration Partner to ensure accurate, consistent, and quality-assured transfer of product and configuration data. Key responsibilities include shaping the migration strategy, confirming mapping logic, validating data integrity, and ensuring business readiness for go-live.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Teamcenter and Active Workspace data structures, item management, revisions, BOMs, and metadata rules.
  • Strong background in data analysis, data quality assessment, and handling complex engineering datasets.
  • Prior experience leading or executing PLM data migrations.
  • Hands-on experience with mapping design, ETL workflows, and data validation frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of core engineering product data (items, BOMs, specifications, CAD/PD data, service BOM variants).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-system, enterprise-scale PLM migrations.
  • Experience working with large OEM or complex engineered products, supporting sound judgement around product structure and configuration.
  • Familiarity with SAP integration contexts, part master data flows, and downstream ERP touchpoints.
  • Familiarity with PLM rollout governance frameworks and milestone-based quality gates.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all business-unit-level data migration activities for the Teamcenter transition, ensuring alignment with global processes and timelines.
  • Collaborate with the Global Data Migration Team and external Data Migration Partner to ensure consistent interpretation of scope, mapping, migration rules, and quality gates.
  • Own data scope, mapping, transformation logic, and validation, ensuring migrated data is at least as useful and accessible as in the original system, and preferably improved.
  • Define and validate attribute mapping between old and new Teamcenter data structures, including items, BOMs, metadata, classifications, and engineering artifacts.
  • Identify, profile, and assess legacy data issues, including historical inconsistencies from prior migrations, and coordinate remediation actions.
  • Coordinate extraction, cleansing, transformation, and load (ETL) activities across internal SMEs, migration partners, and global PLM teams.
  • Assess and govern non-Teamcenter sources of product data (spreadsheets, legacy systems, local tools), aligning required content into the new environment.
  • Ensure business readiness across migration cycles, including test loads, validation rounds, defect resolution, and final cutover.
  • Manage quality gates and acceptance criteria in line with global PLM rollout governance frameworks.
  • Coordinate with functional SMEs (Engineering, CAD/PD, Parts and BOMs, Service, CAE, Manufacturing) for data ownership and approvals, and report progress, risks, and issues to leadership and migration governance.
