Data Migration Engineer (Informatica/DBT)

NTT DATA Services•Remote, TX
•$84,996 - $147,563•Remote

About The Position

NTT DATA is hiring a Data Migration Engineer to join its U.S.-based remote team. The role is a hands-on technical contributor and delivery anchor for a large-scale migration from Informatica PowerCenter to a modern data stack. The engineer will design and implement Python-based extract/load pipelines, dbt transformations, and Airflow orchestration, converting complex Informatica workflows into production-quality, functionally equivalent outputs at enterprise scale. The position involves migrating high-volume data, including billion-row tables, to a target warehouse; developing and testing dbt models; orchestrating workflows; contributing to CI/CD; and supporting testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and knowledge transfer. The role may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. The stated U.S. starting pay range is $84,996–$147,563, with actual compensation depending on location, experience, skills, and other qualifications.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of Informatica PowerCenter experience, including mappings, sessions, workflows, and parameterization.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on dbt Core experience, including model layering, macros, tests, and incremental materializations.
  • Airflow experience authoring DAGs, defining task dependencies, and incorporating workflows with a scheduling tool; no minimum number of years is stated.
  • At least 5 years of Python experience, including production use of parallelism and batch data processing.
  • At least 5 years of SQL experience, including complex joins, window functions, and aggregations across large datasets.
  • Experience with Oracle Data Pump (expdp/impdp) or SQL Server BCP/BULK INSERT for high-volume data movement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQLAlchemy, cx_Oracle, or pyodbc for Python-based database connectivity.
  • Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers in offshore delivery models.

Responsibilities

  • Assess Informatica workflows, including sessions, mappings, and parameterizations, and translate them into equivalent Python extract/load scripts and dbt transformation models.
  • Develop and maintain Python extract/load pipelines to move high-volume data into the target warehouse using database connectivity and bulk export tools.
  • Design and develop dbt transformation models based on Informatica mapping logic, using model layering, macros, incremental strategies, and snapshot patterns.
  • Develop dbt-native tests and custom Python unit tests to validate transformation correctness and data quality.
  • Develop Airflow DAGs to orchestrate Python extract/load and dbt scripts end-to-end, producing output functionally equivalent to the source Informatica workflows.
  • Contribute to GitLab CI/CD pipelines for dbt and Airflow code, including lint gates, automated testing, and deployment to shared NAS.
  • Perform peer code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to fellow engineers.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and data discrepancies during SIT and UAT, including row-count reconciliation between source Oracle or SQL Server systems and the target warehouse.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, runbooks, and handover materials.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employer contribution.
  • Flexible spending or health savings account.
  • Life and AD&D insurance.
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • Paid time off.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • 401(k) program with company match.
  • Additional voluntary or legally required benefits.
  • Potential eligibility for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
