About The Position

The Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) program is a community-academic partnership dedicated to reducing chronic disease disparities among African American/Black and Hispanic/Latino communities through culturally responsive, evidence-based strategies. The Data Manager & Communications Specialist reports to the REACH Program Supervisor and works closely with community partners, the Evaluation Specialist, CDC evaluator, and program leadership to manage program data, support evaluation, and oversee technology and communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Two+ years of experience in database management, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with relational databases, SPSS (or similar statistical software), Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
  • Experience developing web-based surveys.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of database management, data collection methodologies, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to interpret data and produce clear, actionable reports.
  • Experience creating presentations and communication materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, customer service, and professional ethics.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Programming experience (e.g., VBA, PHP, Excel Macros) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, manage, and maintain program data from community partners and program activities.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy through data verification and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain databases, longitudinal datasets, and documentation.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data using statistical software (e.g., SPSS) to support program evaluation and decision-making.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for program leadership, the CDC, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Evaluation Specialist on data collection tools, evaluation instruments, and grant reporting.
  • Design and develop standardized and ad hoc reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a data management resource for program staff and partners.
  • Manage REACH technology and communications, including website maintenance, web-based surveys, newsletters, brochures, presentations, signage, and other communication materials.
  • Travel to partner communities for data collection and program support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
