About The Position

The Data Management Lead is responsible for defining and executing the organization's data management strategy, ensuring data quality, governance, security, and compliance. This role partners with business and technology teams to establish data standards, improve data quality, and enable data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or related disciplines.
  • 3–5+ years of experience leading teams or enterprise data initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance
  • Strong understanding of Data Quality Management
  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Strong understanding of Metadata Management
  • Strong understanding of Data Lineage
  • Strong understanding of Data Catalogs
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, Alation, Talend, Ataccama, SAP MDG.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc., as applicable).
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Relevant certifications such as DAMA CDMP, Azure Data Engineer, AWS Data Analytics, or Informatica certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement enterprise data management strategies and frameworks.
  • Lead data governance initiatives, including data ownership, stewardship, and policies.
  • Define and maintain data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring processes.
  • Oversee master data management (MDM), metadata management, and data catalog initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational data policies.
  • Lead data profiling, cleansing, validation, and remediation activities.
  • Manage data lifecycle processes, including acquisition, storage, archival, and disposal.
  • Partner with data engineering, analytics, architecture, and security teams to deliver reliable data platforms.
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure data quality and governance effectiveness.
  • Mentor and lead a team of data analysts, data stewards, or data management professionals.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data management practices and tools.
