About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Management Director to spearhead the modernization and expansion of our enterprise data capabilities. As a pivotal leader within the Chief Data Office (CDO), you will be instrumental in executing our companywide data strategy by driving the adoption of robust metadata management, establishing an information marketplace, and architecting end-to-end semantic layer capabilities (including information modeling, ontology definition, and taxonomy management). The Strategic Capability Strategy and Execution Lead will act as a central force in bridging business needs with technology solutions, ensuring that our data ecosystem reduces operational costs, mitigates risks, and serves as a catalyst for sustainable business growth. This role requires deep and broad partnership and coordination across disparate stakeholder groups and technology teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Data Management, Business Research, Analytics, or Project Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues and meet high risk deliverables.
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives and execute tactical solutions across disparate technology and business groups.
  • Interpret, develop, and implement business strategies, policies, and procedures across the organization to strengthen data consistency and controls.
  • Manage functional budgets, as applicable, and partner across stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and controls.
  • Manage people allocation and financial resources to ensure commitments are met in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy, fostering clear mission alignment and robust organizational practices.
  • Drive the strategy and implementation of metadata management, information modeling, ontology definition, and taxonomy management.
