About The Position

Banner Quality Management Inc. (BQMI) is seeking a highly motivated Data Management Analyst to support the Corporate Business Office (CBO) at NSWC Crane. The Data Management Analyst will be responsible for developing, configuring, maintaining, and enhancing data management systems, reporting solutions, databases, and business intelligence tools that support organizational operations and decision-making. This position serves as a key resource for data governance, analytics, reporting, system administration, and data science support activities. The analyst works closely with stakeholders to identify business requirements, develop technical solutions, maintain data repositories, and ensure the integrity, accessibility, and effective use of organizational data assets. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data visualization, data architecture, business systems analysis, and process improvement, along with the ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience managing databases, data repositories, and reporting systems.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and analytical products using data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL, and other database or reporting technologies.
  • Knowledge of database structures, data management principles, and data governance practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Secret level Clearance required
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL Server, .NET, Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, or similar analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of data science, machine learning concepts, and data modeling methodologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise information systems and business intelligence environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and data integration technologies.
  • Experience with process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and authoritative data sources.
  • Familiarity with data modeling methodologies and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and workflow optimization.
  • Experience supporting government or DoD environments (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and administer enterprise data repositories, databases, and document management systems.
  • Manage data collection, storage, validation, integration, import/export, and retrieval processes across multiple systems.
  • Monitor database performance, data quality, and system functionality to ensure data integrity and reliability.
  • Provide database administration support, including user access management, permissions, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for databases, data repositories, workflows, and system configurations.
  • Oversee and manage CBO systems and tools including: User and customer management systems, Data repositories and databases, Dashboards and reporting tools, Collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint), Communication and social media tools.
  • Perform system upgrades and enhancements to improve capability and efficiency.
  • Provide user support and interface assistance.
  • Develop and deliver training related to business systems and tools.
  • Support NSWC Crane’s data strategy initiatives, particularly in data architecture.
  • Develop white papers, conceptual/logical data models, and business systems analyses.
  • Provide recommendations on data standards, policies, and integration methods.
  • Assist in infrastructure and systems assessments.
  • Support predictive modeling, statistical simulation, and machine learning initiatives.
  • Help transition of data science models into continuous production systems.
  • Develop, configure, or enhance business tools and systems based on defined requirements.
  • Manage full data lifecycle processes for reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Develop reporting databases using tools such as Excel, Access, SQL/.NET, and ERP-integrated systems.
  • Produce documentation including architecture diagrams, process definitions, user instructions, and training materials.
  • Conduct or oversee training for new and enhanced tools and processes.
  • Collect, analyze, and report performance-related data.
  • Apply statistical techniques for process and cost analysis.
  • Identify cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
  • Support planning, execution, and reporting of cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
  • Provide written analyses and recommendations for Government review and decision-making.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain process, technical, quality, systems, and user documentation.
  • Write for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Gather and analyze product and system information to document new or changing capabilities.
  • Develop innovative documentation methods such as video tutorials, demos, and digital guides.
  • Collaborate with teams to produce user guides, tutorials, training materials, and procedural documentation.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, metrics, and analytical products that support business operations and leadership decision-making.
  • Develop databases, reporting applications, and automated workflows using tools such as Excel, Access, SQL Server, .NET, Power BI, and other data management platforms.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports, analyses, and performance metrics using organizational data sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify reporting requirements and implement effective data visualization solutions.
  • Develop, configure, and implement new business tools and capabilities to support organizational objectives.
  • Modify, enhance, and maintain existing systems, applications, and reporting solutions to improve functionality and efficiency.
  • Conduct system assessments and recommend technology solutions that align with business needs.
  • Support system upgrades, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Support data science initiatives through data identification, collection, analysis, and preparation activities.
  • Assist in the evaluation of data infrastructures, systems, and technologies to support advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Contribute to machine learning initiatives by supporting data acquisition, model inputs, and analytical processes.
  • Assist with data modeling methodologies, analytical frameworks, and the development of data products.
  • Collaborate with technical and functional teams to improve data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Oversee and manage business systems and tools, including user management applications, customer management systems, data repositories, reporting platforms, and dashboard environments.
  • Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to improve usability, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide end-user support, training, and technical assistance related to data systems and reporting tools.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing tools and processes.
