About The Position

Supports the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) program through the abstraction, collection, and reporting of critical transplant data to the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). Responsible for ensuring data quality, supporting audits and accreditation requirements, and maintaining compliance with reporting standards. Collaborates with physicians, transplant coordinators, laboratory staff, and clinical teams while contributing to process improvement initiatives and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required and one (1) year of experience in Research, Oncology, Stem Cell Transplantation, BMT Data Management, or a related setting.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate issues and identify potential solutions.
  • Ability to provide thoughtful analysis and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, and mentorship abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software applications.
  • Working knowledge of data management, data abstraction, clinical or laboratory research, and quality data submission practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed RN or Medical Technologist in the State of Florida preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Abstracts, collects, and documents critical Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) data elements from electronic medical records and external healthcare facilities.
  • Completes and submits required reporting forms and transplant data to the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR).
  • Ensures the accuracy, quality, and integrity of reported BMT data in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and reporting standards.
  • Supports audits, research queries, and accreditation reviews conducted by internal and external entities, including regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of systems and processes that support continuous quality and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Effectively manages multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Cultivates collaborative working relationships with physicians, transplant nurse coordinators, stem cell laboratory staff, BMT program personnel, and clinical trials teams.
