About The Position

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. This position provides professional administrative support services for the Data Management Unit related to incarcerated individuals' records, facility population counts, audits, and individual system access requirements. This will include assisting, coordinating, compiling, and processing data in accordance with the responsibilities assigned to the Data Management Unit. This position acts as the incarcerated individual locator for the public and various state agencies via phone, email, and fax correspondences. It also involves the processing of local agency reimbursement of jail bills received for incarcerated individuals maintained in their facilities. Additionally, this position assists with the preparation of training materials and classes hosted by the data management unit.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • One year of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
  • Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office or similar software to analyze and compile data and prepare reports and other documents.
  • Experience providing customer service in an office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional administrative support services for the Data Management Unit related to incarcerated individuals' records, facility population counts, audits, and individual system access requirements.
