About The Position

The Data Lead - Design translates business requirements into scalable data models and technical solutions. This role involves advanced solution design, architectural judgment, and ownership of complex design outcomes. It requires performing advanced professional work that demands discretion and analytical judgment in the design of data solutions. The position allows for independent evaluation of alternatives, recommendation of architectural approaches, and ownership of design outcomes, without primary people management accountability.

Requirements

• Deep functional expertise in data governance, design, enablement, or operations
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and lead complex work
• Analytical problem solving and systems thinking
• Decision making under ambiguity
• Advanced communication and influencing skills
• Two years of education beyond high school in college or technical school
• One to up to three years' of relevant work experience

• Strong technical skills in working with and understanding systems, file structures and databases
• 1-3 years in data modeling, MDM, or system design
• Strong operational and process knowledge
• SQL and database knowledge

Responsibilities

• Design data models, hierarchies, and end-to-end processes
• Lead solution design for new capabilities and integrations
• Collaborate with IT on architecture and implementation
• Ensure alignment with governance standards and business needs
• Document data flows, structures, and technical designs
• Support data modeling and process mapping
• Assist in translating business requirements into design inputs
• Maintain data definitions, relationships, and metadata
• Support testing and validation of new designs
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards
