This role leverages Azure Cloud data services, Azure SQL, and other tools to deliver supportable, scalable, and secure data integrations.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in data integration, data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or a related technical role.
  • Strong SQL skills, including advanced querying, data transformation, troubleshooting, and working with relational data structures.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud data services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database or SQL Server, Azure Blob Storage, and related data movement or storage services.
  • Experience building, supporting, optimizing, and troubleshooting production data pipelines, scheduled jobs, and integration workflows.
  • Experience integrating data from a variety of source systems using APIs, FTP/SFTP, structured files, JSON, XML, CSV, or similar formats.
  • Ability to diagnose data quality issues, reconcile source-to-target results, and resolve pipeline or integration failures through structured troubleshooting.
  • Strong ownership mindset, learning orientation, documentation discipline, and willingness to work across technical and business teams.
  • Able to perform all work related assigned job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with common database development tools, Git-based source control, Azure DevOps, CI/CD practices, and AI-assisted development workflows.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric concepts or tools, such as pipelines, lakehouses, warehouses, dataflows, or notebooks.
  • SSIS experience, especially in environments modernizing legacy integrations to Azure-based solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience is also valued.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Azure Data Engineer or Microsoft Fabric credentials, are helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines: Develop scalable ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Blob Storage, SQL Server, and related Azure Cloud data services to move, transform, and prepare business data for downstream use.
  • Support production data integrations: Monitor pipeline health, investigate failures, troubleshoot data movement issues, resolve incidents, and coordinate remediation to ensure reliable and timely data processing.
  • Integrate enterprise source systems: Build and maintain integrations across a broad range of internal and external source systems using APIs, FTP/SFTP, structured files, and secure, supportable integration patterns.
  • Maintain data platform objects: Create, update, and support database, warehouse, lakehouse, staging, and integration objects needed for reliable data movement, transformation, and consumption.
  • Ensure data quality and performance: Implement validation, reconciliation, error-handling, tuning, and optimization practices to improve accuracy, reliability, scalability, maintainability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Participate in solution design and discovery: Partner with Enterprise Solutions teammates, business analysts, platform owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements, evaluate source and target systems, and design practical data integration solutions.
  • Document integration solutions: Maintain clear technical documentation, including data flows, mappings, dependencies, schedules, troubleshooting steps, operational runbooks, and support procedures.
  • Support modernization efforts: Help migrate legacy or on-premises integration processes toward cloud-native, maintainable, and well-documented solutions using Azure and emerging Microsoft data platform capabilities.
  • Apply modern development practices: Evaluate emerging technologies, automation opportunities, source control practices, Azure DevOps workflows, approved AI-assisted development tools, and best practices across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and enterprise data integration.
