About The Position

Clarium is seeking a Data Integration Engineer to own the technical aspects of customer data integrations for hospital systems and their suppliers. This role involves working directly with customers to understand their systems, bring integrations into production, and design reliable ingestion and transformation workflows. The engineer will collaborate with data engineers and product managers to refine customer data feeds, ensure integrations are production-ready, and develop reusable connectors and internal tools to improve scalability and speed for future integrations. This position requires comfort with ambiguity, unfamiliar systems, frequent customer interaction, and full ownership of production systems, appealing to those who enjoy building robust systems and addressing customer problems.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills; ability to write production code.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines or system integrations in a production environment.
  • Comfort working directly with external customers or stakeholders, including running technical discovery calls, managing expectations, and communicating clearly under pressure.
  • A builder's instinct: ability to figure things out in ambiguous environments, read documentation, and proactively unblock oneself.
  • Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, SFTP, or similar data exchange patterns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical problems to non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR).
  • Experience with EHR/ERP systems (Epic, Cerner, Workday, Oracle, Infor).
  • Familiarity with healthcare supply chain or hospital operations.
  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with hospital IT and supply chain teams to understand source systems, data structures, and integration requirements.
  • Design, build, and own production data pipelines that ingest and transform data from customer ERP, supply chain, and operational systems into Clarium's platform.
  • Troubleshoot integration failures in live customer environments, addressing issues like schema mismatches, authentication problems, and upstream data quality issues.
  • Build reusable connectors and integration patterns to reduce onboarding time for future customers.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to translate field learnings into platform improvements.
  • Maintain clear documentation and runbooks to ensure integrations are supportable at scale.
  • Communicate integration status, risks, and timelines clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Target Base Salary Range: $130K - 150K
  • Incentive Stock Options proportionate to your salary
  • Fully remote work environment with a NYC co-working space available
  • Distributed team across multiple time zones with opportunities for in-person time
