About The Position

Prescient Edge is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support a Federal Government client. This role is contingent upon contract award. The specialist will oversee metadata management, data lineage tracking, and regulatory compliance for all datasets within the Data Lake environment. Key responsibilities include integrating Unity Catalog and OpenLineage, implementing role-based access control (RBAC) according to DoD and NIST 800-53 guidelines, and submitting a Data Governance & Compliance Report.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and capability to establish, enforce, and maintain data governance policies and frameworks across cloud-based and on premises environments.
  • Proficiency in metadata management, data lineage tracking, data cataloging, and regulatory compliance standards such as DoD IL-4/IL-5, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53 Rev. 5.
  • Experience with data classification models, access controls, and policy-based data lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing data governance frameworks, implementing metadata and data cataloging solutions, and ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies.
  • Experience with tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, or Azure Purview.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in data governance.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee metadata management, data lineage tracking, and regulatory compliance for all datasets stored within the Data Lake environment.
  • Integrate Unity Catalog and OpenLineage methodologies to enhance discoverability, classification, and security of mission-critical datasets.
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC) measures, ensuring that authorized personnel access data per DoD and NIST 800-53 compliance guidelines.
  • Submit the Data Governance & Compliance Report, providing an assessment of data lineage, regulatory adherence, and metadata completeness.
