About The Position

Anderson University's Office of Institutional Research invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, Data Governance Manager. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The Data Governance Manager will lead the development and implementation of a university-wide data governance program, establishing policies, standards, and procedures to ensure institutional data is accurate, accessible, secure, and aligned with regulatory requirements and university priorities. This position will oversee data stewardship, quality, reporting alignment, lifecycle and retention practices, and campus-wide data governance initiatives. The Data Governance Manager will facilitate governance committees, including the Data Governance Board and Data Governance Steering Committee, leading training, documentation, and communication efforts to promote data literacy and will serve as a campus resource for data governance practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in data management, analytics, data governance, or a related area.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of higher education data regulations, including FERPA.
  • A mature Christian faith aligned with Anderson University’s mission and values.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • Professional certification, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
  • Experience with enterprise systems.
  • Experience with data governance tools.
  • Experience in higher education.
