About The Position

dv01 is seeking a Data Governance Lead to establish and mature data governance practices within the company. The role will focus on creating a deliberate framework to replace existing home-grown governance methods. Key priorities include defining data ownership and stewardship across data domains, maintaining a comprehensive data dictionary, implementing a data quality framework with measurable metrics, and ensuring compliance with data usage terms. This role is crucial for scaling AI and data products by ensuring the trustworthiness of underlying data through robust governance. The Data Governance Lead will collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Product Management, Data Analysts, Data Operations, Product, Commercial, and Legal teams. Initially an individual contributor role, the position has the potential to build a team as the function proves its value. The role requires a builder mentality, persistence, credibility, and clear direction to drive progress and remove governance as a constraint on scaling AI and data products.

  • Strategic understanding of the intersection of AI and data governance.
  • Proven track record of designing governance frameworks (quality, lineage, metadata, compliance) for scalable AI models.
  • Knowledgeable across core governance domains: ownership, stewardship, quality, lineage, metadata, classification, access, master/reference data.
  • Familiarity with key regulatory frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, EU AI Act / ISO 42001).
