About The Position

The Data Governance & BI Analyst will be involved in developing and advancing the University’s enterprise data strategy and governance program. This role collaborates with senior leadership to help shape and track strategic data initiatives while leading the development and implementation of governance practices across the institution. The analyst maintains and enhances the university’s data governance platform, ensures consistent enterprise metadata standards, and partners with data stewards to promote shared definitions, data lineage, and standardized data domains. Serving as a co-chair on the Data Governance Committee, the role also plays a key part in building cross-campus communication and fostering an engaged community of data stakeholders. This role also will support business intelligence initiatives by applying best practices in data modeling and analytics to support a culture of informed decision-making across the University. The individual(s) in this role work as a member of the Office of Decision Support-EDA team as well as university staff in support of data governance and business intelligence to support and promote data governance and data usage within the University community.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field of study
  • At least 6 months of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional level work experience which includes analyzing business processes and helping solve problems through software or reporting solutions
  • At least 6 months of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional level work experience which includes authoring SQL, R, Python, and/or SAS
  • At least 6 months of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional level work experience which includes extracting, combining, managing, and analyzing large data sets
  • At least 6 months of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional level work experience which includes developing and supporting of a Business Intelligence or data warehousing initiative
  • At least 6 months of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional level work experience which includes work in higher education environment
