As a Data Governance Analyst I, you will support the execution of VyStar’s enterprise data governance program through foundational governance activities related to metadata management, data quality, data privacy, and lifecycle management. This role operates within the 2nd Line of Defense and supports Enterprise Risk Management by assisting with data classification, application onboarding activities such as Microsoft Purview, and coordination across Data Owners, Data Stewards, Risk, Privacy, and key I.T. stakeholders. The analyst contributes to the operationalization of governance standards, procedures, and controls, supports onboarding of new data sources into the enterprise data ecosystem, and helps maintain core governance assets including the enterprise data catalog, data asset inventory, business glossary, and related documentation. All employees and business units, as first line of defense, are expected to proactively help identify, assess, manage, and report risks within their domain of work. The Risk team serves as the second line of defense by providing risk oversight and credible challenge whereas the Audit team serves as the third line of defense by providing risk assurance.
